Metal Mold (PDF)
Seal leaks at pressures above 25 psi, up to 60 psi.
Why cut out high-pressure fittings when you can seal them?
Simple Process
Step 1:
PLCS designs these on our CAD system. They are usually custom fabricated from steel in two halves, which are bolted together on the pipe.
Step 2:
The pipe is prepared by grit blasting and priming
Step 3:
The sealant is mixed and poured into the mold.
Step 4:
The mold is capped and then pressurized with bottled nitrogen to above mains pressure. A gauge registers the sealant pressure. The nitrogen pressure is left on for 24-48 hours and then the mold is removed.
The steel mold belongs to you and can be reused many times.
Field technicians are available for on-site instruction and supervision.
